That's the URL of the image I'm trying to use as my avatar, but it says it's invalid. I know that's a real URL.

This is the image right here.

Is something broken, or are non-admins not allowed to have animated avatars?

Introduction / RE: Leaving/Return Thread
« on: March 18, 2010, 06:28:12 pm »
Well, after the forum was 404'd I thought it was gone for good. I looked up the YouTube page and clicked the link, expecting a 404 again, and the page loaded. So I'm back.

P.S. I won't be very active for a while since I have Rollback on Arwingpedia, moderator duties on two other forums, and there's been a Team Rocket "takeover" on Bulbagarden.

Edit: Leaving again until the server gets fixed.

Video Games / "Slippy! Send me a landmaster!" Nintendo VS Homebrew

1-800-255-3700

That's a number I need as many people as possible to call. It is the Nintendo customer service hot line. We need to let them know that they are violating our rights to free use of property by removing homebrew and open source software from our Nintendo Wiis. We payed for our Wiis, so we should get to use them the way we want.

Well, I noticed that a lot of people lost a lot of money AGAIN.

Can you please make a permanent fix for it? It's getting annoying.

I don't think it's necessary right now, but it's good to be prepared for the future.

Thanks. I originally was going to put this here, but it looked like this section was only for dueling.

Card Games / I am in serious need of help.
« on: February 05, 2010, 10:37:01 pm »
Ok. My Yu-Gi-Oh! deck was AWESOME until Konami released the new "n00bs DESERVE to win" list (a.k.a. the Limited/Restricted list). Now I need to come up with a new deck that's just as good, if not better than, my old one. Problem is, there aren't any online that are legal.

Criteria:
  • IT MUST CONFORM TO THE "N00BS DESERVE TO WIN" LIST.
  • No more than 40 cards. That means you, Halotaku.
  • It must be able to at least keep up with a good Six Samurai deck. My old deck could even go toe to toe with Gigaplant OTK before the new list came out.
  • It must be made with cards that are regularly available either in packs or on the internet WITH OUT COSTING $200 USD A CARD! That means Deck Devastation Virus most likely will be out of the picture.
  • A theme would be nice for keeping track of cards and general strategy, as long as it works. It doesn't matter either way.
  • No Blue Eyes White Dragon unless combined with Kaibaman. Here's why:
.

Finally, I would rather not use an Earthbound Immortal. The one card I have, for some reason, gives me a headache and a chill, so I keep it under lock and key, just in case. I can't explain it, it just does.

Sets / RE: New Archtype {Railin} 10/?? *Mecha Alien/ Gold Mode Added!!!*
« on: February 05, 2010, 05:20:39 pm »
There's a good amount of OCG errors, but otherwise a good concept. I don't know how the dual type monsters would fit in with the rules, though. What if there's a field spell card that effects both types, one positively and the other negatively? What would happen?

Alright... I make my own midi files based off of existing video game music.
I can post some of my examples if I could find a way. Would hotlinking from esnips work?

Discuss.

If anyone needs a glossary of terms, here it is.

  • *air: Airborn attack. See Bair, Dair, Fair, Nair, or Uair.
  • Advanced Edge Guarding: See Edge Guarding. Includes jumping off the stage to attack the opponent to keep them from reaching the edge, as well as grabbing the edge before the opponent can.
  • Air Dodge: Pressing the L or R button while in midair. Using this counts as a third jump.
  • Bair: Backwords midair attack. Executed by holding back and pressing A while off the ground. See *air for other Midair attacks.
  • Counter (move): General name for any attack that deflects a physical or projectile attack, including Marth and Roy's Counter.
  • Counter (character): A character of any tier that trumps another character, despite being at a tier based disadvantage.
  • Counter Happy: Spamming a counter move in an attempt to damage a shffling opponent and break the opponent out of the shffl. See Counter
  • Dair: Downwards midair attack. Executed by holding down and pressing A while airborn. See *air
  • Dair Spike: A Dair Meteor Smash. See Dair and Meteor Smash
  • Dash Grabbing: Grabbing an opponent, then throwing them and dashing to catch them right before they land in order to repeat the sequence. Very annoying.
  • Edge Guarding: staying offensive after an opponent has been launched off the side of a stage in order to guarantee a KO.
  • Fair: Forward midair attack. Executed by holding forward on the control stick and pressing A while in midair.
  • Fast Fall: Pressing down at the apex of a jump. Lowers hang time.
  • L-Cancel: Pressing the L or R button right after executing a midair attack. Extremely hard to pull off.
  • Main: Gamer Slang. Usual character of choice for a player.
  • Meteor Smash: A move that launches an airborne opponent downward.
  • Nair: Neutral Midair Attack. Executed by pressing A while in midair.
  • SHFFL: Short hop, Fair, Fast Fall, L-Cancel. Using this sequence repetitively is called shffling, and can speed up otherwise slow characters like Bowser and Ganondorf. Easily stopped. See the respective individual entries for more information.
  • Short Hop: Tapping the X or Y button as apposed to pressing it normally. Decreases the distance jumped. Useful for Shffling and using *air moves close to the ground.
  • Spam: Abusive or repetitive use of a move or combo.
  • Tech: Recovery move. Executed by pressing L or R when landing from a fall. Gets rid of character lag caused by having to get up after falling. Similar to air recovery from most other side scrolling fighting games.
  • Tier System: A controversial grouping of characters based on performance in tournaments. In every sense, a wager board without the betting. A higher tier character has more of a chance of winning than a lower tier charcter in the same match.
  • Wavedashing: a Short Hop instantly followed by a downward diagonal air dodge. Causes a character to slide across the ground much faster than a normal dash, and can be used to move backwords without jumping.
  • Wavelanding: A downward diagonal air dodge onto a nearby platform. Useful for avoiding an opponent waiting for you to land. Works similar to wavedashing.

Let me know if I missed anything.

I'll join.

Gender: To stay anonymous, I prefer to be referred to using non-gender specific pronouns, or by my username when not possible.
What is the main thing you use to communicate? Speech, this 6 year old Dell Desktop, other computers, phone (e-mail, text, Voice over Standard Protocol, any way I would use a computer, etc...).

I was going to write an article on the history of trading cards (Including TCGs/OCGs/CCGs), but I don't know where to put it.
